Prayer Thought: The Good shepherd | The Bow Tie Prayer Guy

In today’s Prayer Thought, “Our Great Security,” Clay and Derrick talk through the first part of John 10, where Jesus reminds us that we are His sheep - safe in His hand. When life feels uncertain or uncomfortable, we can run to Him for comfort and grace.

These moments of challenge are where faith takes root and grows stronger. This episode encourages us to pray boldly, trust deeply, and find peace in the truth that we are secure in Christ.

John 10:29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” - NKJV

Prayer Action: What is it in your life that is hindering you from being able to sit in Jesus’ lap, unencumbered, as a child to their Father or sheep to their Shepherd? Seems weird doesn’t it? After all, we’re adults with real maturity and important things to say and do on a daily basis. We don’t have time to sit in Jesus’ lap (enter sarcasm here)! Yet there might be something in your/my life blocking this all-important question from becoming reality.

So, here’s what I propose for this week: spend time in prayer this week focusing on the character of the Good Shepherd. Ask Him to reveal if there are certain things hindering your intimacy with Him. Repent if necessary, believing that fullness of grace and joy are yours and you will find freedom then to persevere and have faith as a child! - Clay

Prayer Thought: God Dependent Prayer | The Bow Tie Prayer Guy

I am happy to share that I am now an official “Guest Co-Host” with the one and only Clay Elliot being the Bow Tie Prayer Guy. I will make guest appearances periodically.

In this episodes Prayer Thought the focus is “God-dependent Prayer” with John 15:5 being the focus text.

Prayer Action: Identify a couple of areas that you struggle with, at times, being fully dependent on God in all areas. Pray through them, asking forgiveness, if necessary, for trying to do these things in your own strength. Then spend time praising the Lord for how you are never alone and how the Lord goes before you in all you say and do.
